Herb Blurb:

Recipe for the Holiday Season:

Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Serves 1 to 2

1 cup water
1/4 cup dried peppermint, or 1/2 cup fresh peppermint leaves, finely chopped
1 tsp peppermint extract
(optional: 2 Tbsp honey or agave nectar, to taste)
1/2 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
1 Tbsp naturally sweetened chocolate chips
(optional: 1 cup unsweetened soymilk or water)

Boil water, peppermint, extract and agave nectar in small sauce pan.  Remove from heat and steep for 5 mins.  Strain and reserve.  Combine mint mixture, cocoa, chips and milk in a medium sauce pan, stir constantly over medium heat until velvety.  Serve warm in mugs.
